A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste

So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants. Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold, Beside that he had of the merchantmen, and of the traffick of the spice merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the country. And King Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of gold went to one target. And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three pound of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon. Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the best gold. The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round behind: and there were stays on either side on the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the stays. And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there  was not the like made in any kingdom. And all King Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver: it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon. For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the navy of Hiram: once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks. So King Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom. And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.”

Didn’t Drs. Kenneth and Mamie Clark’s classic “Doll Study” already prove this to be true regarding black children, particularly in the segregated South? Interestingly, soon after publishing the results of their research “colored schools”, wherein some gifted black students scored HIGHER on standardized tests than white students, simply vanished in the name of Civil Rights and progress. Countless now retired judges, educators, engineers, attorneys, and physicians, etc., can recall how their teachers’ and their fathers’ approbation motivated their academic and professional success during the Jim Crow Era. Yet,  former Pres. Obama supported the “human rights” of homosexual, transgender, lesbian, and bisexual couples to “marry” and to supplant biological fathers as the head of the home via his obsession with the GLBT agenda. Concomitantly, Pres. Obama bragged about having liberated Lybia via having assassinated Muammar Gaddafi, who (1) provided free health care for everyone, (2) raised the nation’s literacy rate from approximately 20% to over 80%, (3) provided free electricity to his entire citizenry, (4) provided a $50,000 grant for newly weds to purchase a home, and (5) made it illegal for banks to charge interest on loans. What country in North America or Europe rivals Libya in this regard? Ergo, is it possible, plausible, probable, or preposterous to think that Pres. Obama is responsible for the destruction of  Libya’s economy, which had achieved the highest standard of living in all of Africa? Explain. Speaking only for myself, I have far more respect for Libya’s former “dictator”, as Western media has vilified him, than I do for the black man who occupied the White House for eight years. Half a century ago, Martin Luther King, Jr., well advised Americans to judge a man by the content of his character rather than by race. Yet, with a steady decline in literacy among minority students, IF 79% – 97% of black boys today NEVER have an erudite black male teacher during their formative years, then is it possible, plausible, probable, or preposterous to think that the proverbial “pipeline” from our public schools to private prisons has been a hidden agenda of integration all along? Explain. In a nation wherein Satanic Clubs are welcome in our elementary schools is it time for conscientious Christian parents to consider home schooling? Any nation that vacates GOD’s Commandments, by default, will become more ungodly and more evil. WE hold these truths to be self-evident in a nation wherein sodomy, fellatio, and coitus are discussed openly in sex education classes for fifth graders. In this Age of Feminism, to what extent is gender identity also a factor in elementary education and the rites of passage? Ergo, is it time for devout Buddhist, Christian, Muslim, and Jewish parents to abandon the public school system in order to protect vulnerable children from Satan’s GLBT indoctrination? Explain.

Why are Dr. Kenneth Bancroft Clark, Dr. George Isidor Sanchez, Mr. Jaime Alfonso Escalante, and Ms. Marva Delores Collins conspicuously absent from most textbooks and workshops on efficacy in education? Why do innovative teachers and principals often find themselves being disciplined or terminated by the School Board, despite their success? Why haven’t the powers that be replicated Marva Collins’ quintessential curriculum throughout Chicago’s inner-city schools? Why isn’t there an Urban Prep Academy in every major city in America? Why hasn’t the National Education Association [NEA] promoted and promulgated Mr. Escalante’s math curriculum in all public high schools, inconsequential to whether or not they have Hispanic students? What can Black and Hispanic students learn about the desuetude of their intellectual potential from movies such as “Dangerous Minds”, “Stand and Deliver”, “Finding Forrester”, “Lean on Me”, “Mi Familia”, and “Akeela and the Bee”? IF black and brown lives matter, then when will wealthy singers, prize fighters, actors, entrepreneurs, NFL and NBA players, etc. create a $500,000,000 endowment [that is less than Tiger Woods’ divorce settlement] and foundation to provide ACADEMIC scholarships for at risk “boys in da hood”, starting in third grade? With a steady decline in literacy among students of color, why do professional athletes endorse sports camps rather than reading camps for boys and girls during the summer months? Is it possible, plausible, probable, or preposterous to think that most youth agencies and other “non-profit” institutions have an invisible “Master” mandating that only an exiguous number of minority children ever leave the Poverty Plantation” to attain intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and pecuniary parity with mainstream America? Explain. Concomitantly, will successful, well-educated Black men ever “man up” to mentor just one convicted felon, mano-a-mano, for as many years as it takes until he earns his GED and bachelor’s degree? Stated differently, rather than to give him a “FI$H” when he is hungry, teach him how to fish and to feed his entire family. Gentlemen, what impact could such a paradigm shift have upon “black on black” homicide, self-hatred, and how we treat each other? Instead of marching past our nation’s Capitol, when will a million men march to their local colleges, churches, mosques, and libraries to create weekly “Think Tanks” committed to facing and fixing our credit history, medical history, criminal history, educational history, and ethical history? Hypothetically, IF the score at half-time during the Super Bowl is 47 to 6, then should the losing Head Coach complain to the officials or admonish his defense to stop their opponent’s quarterback and running back? Truthfully, can we become better men, husbands, fathers, coaches, brothers, and role models, lest we do so? Within our Village, is the modus operandi of our Duboisian “Talented Tenth” self-aggrandizement or altruism? Thus, when will talented minority students manumit themselves en masse from a modern day slave mentality or the perception that articulate, AP honor students are “acting white”? At the grass roots level, when will fathers and other mentors take Junior to the Smithsonian or to the Schomburg Library vis-a-vis to a sporting event? Can they compete intellectually IF black boys handle a basketball far more skillfully than they handle a book? Can any young man protect and provide for his family IF his wife has two masters degrees while he reads at a seventh or eighth grade level? For men who earn substantially less income than their wives, is it possible, plausible, or probable, or preposterous to think that the Psychological Penis Complex might precipitate their “trading places” — both in the boardroom and in the bedroom? Explain. WE can’t fix it IF we can’t face it, inconsequential to whatever “it” is. So, brothers, “What is we gonna do?”

 

First, I must apologize for the foul language in that last video clip. Yet, one of the most important LIFE LESSONS any of us can learn is how to think with our intelligence rather than with our emotions. For example, IF one thinks that virtually all people in any identity group, i.e., Asians, Blacks, Whites, Hispanics, Jews, Muslims, Christians, etc., are good or evil, then Big Brother’s social engineers have accomplished their mission. Antithetically, IF one reads or conducts research to discover the FACTS on any issue, then the results of such critical thinking will show how television, movies, magazines, books, sermons, lectures, blogs, and even Uncle Sam, etc., work in tandem to control our minds and to elicit myriad programmed behaviors. These Pavlovian responses can be either self-affirming or self-destructive. For example, some educators forbid their children to watch television or to play video games on school nights in order to ameliorate their academic performance. Beyond selling drugs or other crimes inveterately associated with minority communities, three legal, yet, self-destructive illustrations of this principle at work are: (1) teen pregnancy, (2) sagging pants showing posterior cleavage, and (3) coveting the pipe dream of NFL or NBA fortune and fame. In the political arena, these “programmed” behaviors include our citizenry’s insouciant response to: (1) CIA sponsored “terrorism”, (2) torture, (3) racism, (4) US military global hegemony, and (5) US domestic policies adversely impacting the poor. Despite today’s unprecedented number of erudite African Americans matriculating and graduating from Harvard Law School and other Ivy League institutions, has anything substantial changed in score years regarding the empowerment or well-being of the poor? Explain. Hypothetically, whenever the “Talented Tenth” graduate from a HBCU or a State University, does such a coterie of professionals lead our Village across the Sahara’s burning sand to the Promised Land…or back to the Nile Plantation to resume building Pharaoh’s pyramids and worshiping his gods? In the sagacious words of Florida’s own James Weldon Johnson, God of our weary years, God of our silent tears, Thou who hast brought us thus far on our way. Thou, who hast by Thy might led us into the light. Keep us forever in the path we pray. Lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met Thee. Lest our hearts, drunk with the wine of the world we forget Thee… Eureka! No man can serve two masters, for he will love one and hate the other. Therefore, whenever he rings the bell, to which master do we gleefully come running with our tails wagging? In the context of a “funeral” for an individual or an entire identity group, is it possible, plausible, probable, or preposterous to think WE the People have become an Orwellian society of proles — without even realizing it? Thus, ignorance is bliss…or is it? Explain.
