“DuPont” Doesn’t Always Mean Chemicals
At the time of the French Revolution, Éleuthère Irénée du Pont, immigrated to the United States and started a company that initially manufactured gunpowder. By the 1860’s, DuPont had experienced tremendous growth and had become the US Army’s largest supplier of gunpowder used in the War Between the States. In the early twentieth century, Pierre Du Pont purchased more than $20 million in stock in General Motors, which eventually became the largest automobile manufacturer in the world. Yet, in 1996, controversy surrounded this wealthy and prominent family when John E. du Pont was tried and convicted of murdering Olympic wrestler David Schulz. Though never proven, it was alleged that an eccentric John du Pont had a homosexual interest in some of the world-class wrestlers he sponsored. Despite legal challenges by his family, his will left nearly 80% of his estate to seven time world champion, Valentin Yordanov Dimitrov. In 2008, Robert Richards IV, another DuPont heir, admitted to having raped his own daughter. At the time, she was only three and new accusations of his having molested his then eighteen month old son have been forthcoming.
Because all of us have both A’s and F’s on our moral report cards, Victory In Christ Ensemble’s [VICE] pedagogy does not condemn people. Instead, VICE emphasizes the thesis that virtually everything we do is driven by a spiritual motive, a sexual motive, or both. Thus, one of the primary goals of inviting Buddhists, Christians, Jews, Muslims, and even agnostics to join VICE is to ameliorate your spiritual acuity. In a nation wherein “In God We Trust” has become a mere creed on the money upon which it is printed, is there a correlation between ungodliness and the proliferation of homosexuality, child molestation, incest, pederasty, and bestiality, etc.? As the perennial Spiritual War between good and evil intensifies, our government relentlessly blocks, tackles, clips and runs religious freedom out of bounds. America, WE can’t fix it IF we can’t face it, inconsequential to whatever “it” is. Ergo, VICE’s workshops explore how a personal relationship with GOD can empower devout men and women to control their carnal desires a/k/a “lusts of the flesh”. Moreover, we query whether the proliferation of US war crimes throughout the Middle East is tantamount to the molestation of countries vis-a-vis the molestation of children? Explain.
