David and Goliath

Most Christians and Jews are familiar with the Biblical story of David and Goliath. According to I Samuel 17, once assembled together at Shochoh, both Saul and the men of Israel greatly feared this Philistine giant. Albeit still a stripling, yet a courageous David killed the Philistine giant and cut off his head. Sometimes overlooked when this story is told, Goliath was not dead when he was stricken in the forehead by David’s stone. Once the giant had fallen to the ground, then David mortally wounded Goliath and decapitated him with the giant’s own sword. The Scriptures describe how Jonathan loved David “as his own soul” after God’s Chosen People were victorious over the Philistines. Jonathan’s father, on the other hand, repeatedly tried amiss to destroy this gallant man-child Samuel had anointed. Apparently, King Saul feared David because he realized that the God of Abraham’s favor had departed from himself. Despite his father’s desire to kill David, Jonathan protected David from Saul’s contemptuous duplicity. Throughout the Bible, God’s “chosen men” have dealt with similar adversaries or “enemy agents” as Morpheus so described them in the Matrix. Indeed, Biblical prophets were beaten, stoned, beheaded, and crucified as they fulfilled God’s purpose in their lives. Paradoxically, female pastors, bishops, and other feminists are among Satan’s most efficacious weapons of mass destruction of God’s Chain of Command. Did God command the stronger or the weaker vessel to be the head and not the tail? For example, David, a man after God’s heart, boldly said to Goliath, “And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s and He will give you into our hands.” Women and lesser men might have offered Goliath a barbecue sandwich and some brownies and said, “Mr. Giant, I brought you this for lunch; so please don’t hurt me.” Ergo, VICE’s exposé of politics, religion, and sexuality proffers members Scriptures affirming that men and women are not equally equipped to wage battle with Goliath. Unwed mothers, candidly look at your children via spiritual sight, especially your sons floundering in the wilderness without intimacy with their fathers. Unless they are spiritually enlightened, single mothers seldom will see how to rectify their sons’ unfulfilled need to successfully connect with and compete against their fathers. In the context of being the head of household, i.e., protecting and providing for the nuclear family, gender is a moral issue. By nature, women are not warriors who yearn to prove their “womanhood” by slaying lions, confronting dragons, or decapitating giants. Sisters, when was the last time you changed a flat tire at midnight for a neighbor or a stranger? When was the last time you carried an injured man on your back for eighty yards to reach safety? Euphemistically, are bicycles and motorcycles equal? I rest my case. Although the Biblical Goliath is dead, the Prince of Darkness has an inexhaustible supply of ungodly, spiritual giants still seeking to destroy the man-child and God’s people. The Holy Bible proclaims that Jehovah GOD is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. Ergo, as this perennial struggle between Heaven’s Head Coach and Hell’s Head Coach continues in the United States, apparently we the People neither hear nor fear God. Brethren, despite their size and might, politically correct Goliaths are not invincible if in God we trust. Indeed, Godly men will be blocked, tackled, clipped, and run out of bounds as we press toward the end zone. Still, in what the Bible calls an Age of a Great Falling Away, real Christians must be steadfast, unmovable and ever abounding in the Word, the Work, and the Will of God. With well over one million convicted felons in our communities, VICE provides both men and women a second chance to lead more virtuous and productive lives via an income opportunity in our book club’s Not Guilty Program. After all, have not all of us made “moral mistakes”? For example, Moses and King David were murderers; were they not? Yet, what better prototype or illustration of victory in Christ can one find than Victor Hugo’s Jean Valjean? College students and other members of VICE who have spent at least 90 days in a juvenile facility or in foster care also are eligible for this same $200.00 discount for Independent Agents distributing and discussing books with their customers. This is an amazing tribute http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKsxotI-8fI to the resilience of a foster child. The spiritual harvest is plentiful; but the laborers are few! Capish? Thus, VICE’s textbook [www.victoryNchrist.net] clearly proffers Christian teenagers and adults a powerful template for standing up for Jesus Christ. In this Age of Feminism, still VICE’s workshops and pedagogy challenge godly men to develop the physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual wherewithal necessary to hear from Heaven, to bend the spoon, to slay the giant, to lead your household, and to become your brother’s keeper. Upon perusal of both the Old Testament and the New Testament, God’s Biblical Commandments require that righteous men — not women — lead the family and the Church if we expect His approbation and blessings to accrue upon our lives. Gentlemen, in so doing, you and your helpmate will score a touchdown for Heaven’s Head Coach as you slay Goliath while pressing toward the mark of the prize of the high calling, which is in Christ Jesus!
